Philip grew up in the Central Otago region, in the lakeside resort town of Queenstown. With the quaint settlement of Arrowtown as his backyard, as well as the wider surrounding areas, Philip was exposed to the vast and unique environmental and geographical treasures it provides. With an intimate knowledge of the area, and an adventure sporting background, Philip has experienced first-hand what this beautiful part of New Zealand has to offer.
Philip joined the Royal New Zealand Navy as a Clearance Diver in 2002 at the age of 17, and resigned in 2008 as a Leading Diver with specialist skills and experience in leadership, people management, and advanced diver and medical training. Following this, Philip chased an offshore diving career working in various parts of the world, prior to settling in Perth, Australia for 5 years. Philip has since returned to New Zealand with his family, living in Lake Hayes Estate of the Queenstown region, and pursuing a career as a Private Guide.
Passing on his knowledge, enthusiasm and passion to showcase New Zealand’s culture, history and beautiful scenery, Philip ensures his clients have every opportunity to experience the very best New Zealand has to offer. With a sense of connectedness, Philip passes on his love for the outdoors with his clients while providing an overall pleasing and welcoming experience.
Philip, together with his wife Paula, are learning to speak Spanish, where they plan to cater to the Spanish speaking tourism market in the not too distant future. Philip is also Advanced First Aid and CPR qualified.
